Entirely handmade from a sheet of copper, this feather design was drawn, cut, filed, and engraved by hand. The centre vein was created by a technique called Fold-forming by which the copper is heated, then folded, hammered, heated, then opened to reveal the texture within. The rippling edges and cut out areas lend a realistic quality to the piece. The stem was delicately curved and then the entire piece was given an antique patina to enhance the feather effect. The cuff is 2" in width and can fit wrist sizes 6 to 9 by simply maneuvering the metal open or closed.
Packaging: All items are packaged in the appropriate size white leatherette box and will be wrapped for safe shipment to you. See photo.
Metal - Copper and brass tarnish naturally to a darker hue. The bracelet has been coated with a lacquer to maintain the shine but this coating is not permanent.
Metal and Skin Discoloration - People are not allergic to metal; metal reacts to you, your skin, sweat, natural oils, and lotion or perfumes put on the skin. On some people copper leaves a dark grey discoloration, yet on others, it may appear green. This discoloration is not permanent (it washes off) and varies from person to person (the copper reacts differently on different people).
CARE - use a soft jewelry cloth to clean and shine the metal. Avoid abrasive scrubbing or strong detergents! Periodically soak the entire piece in 4:1 ratio Mr. Clean (or gentle substitute) and lukewarm water for 2-3 minutes. Rinse with clean water and dry.
STORE your jewelry in a zip-locking type bag once completely dry. You can add a small charcoal type pouch to keep humidity away if you live in more humid climates. These are the types found in shoe boxes, purses, etc.
